Joseph Allen was born on the 14th of March 1990 in Carmarthen, Wales. He began his career at Swansea City where he made his debut for the club in 2007 against Port Talbot Town aged just 16 years old. He became an integral part of Swansea's midfield in the next few seasons. He helped the club gain promotion to the Championship and the following year to the Premier League under now Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.
He played an impressive 130 league matches for the club scoring seven goals.
He signed for Liverpool in August 2012 under former Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers for a deal worth £15 million. He made his debut for the club in the 3-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion on the opening day of the 2012-13 Premier League. Allen faces competition with Lucas Leiva, Jonjo Shelvey, Jordan Henderson and Nuri Sahin in the centre of midfield.
Allen has played for Wales U-17, U-19 and U-21 youth levels before making his senior Wales debut in 2009 against Estonia. Allen played in the Great Britain side for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Allen has potential to be a great player for club and country.
