Losing 1-3 at home gave Monaco a huge advantage going into the second leg on French turf which proved too much of an ask for Arsenal who although winning 2-0 were knocked out on aggregate.

Arsenal's 13-14 European campaign ended when they lost to eventual semi-finalists Bayern Munich 1-3 in the Round of 16. Arsenal also lost to Bayern Munich in the 2012-13 Champions League Round of 16.
