The away shirt was usually white in the early days although the majority of the 70s and 80s saw Arsenal wearing yellow on the road. The yellow has remained during the last twenty years although the club has created various blue away designs in this period. One of the latest away shirts included a hooped purple design.

Notable away shirts include the 1971 yellow away shirt in which they won the double and the 1950 FA Final Cup yellow shirt. Other notable shirts include the 1989 Championship shirt and the 1977-78 away shirt.

Our history of Arsenal Away kits


Similar to the 2014/15 away shirt which used a yellow/navy design, the 2015/16 away shirt for the Gunners used a striking gold and navy design. The 2015/16 away shirt took significant inspiration from that of the 2008/09 away shirt and the 2002/03 third shirt which proved a huge hit amongst Arsenal fans.


The Arsenal 2014-15 away kit revealing a yellow design with dark blue trim. The last time the club had a yellow away shirt was back in the 2013-14 season. The shirt features a similar kit template to the 14-15 home shirt revealing a yellow base with dark blue sleeves and a standard dark blue v-neck collar. Red is seen as the third colour on the branding, sides and sleeve cuffs. The away kit is completed with dark blue shorts and hooped yellow and dark blue shorts.
