Iago Aspas Juncal known as Iago Aspas is a Spanish footballer who plays for English club Liverpool. Aspas was born in Moana, Spain on the 1st of August 1987 and he began his career at Celta Vigo where he made his professional debut for the B side in 2006 before stepping up to the first team in 2008 making his debut in the Segunda Division.
Aspas was promoted to the senior Celta Vigo team for the 2009-10 season and in the 2011-12 season he netted a career high of 23 league goals which helped the club to gain promotion to La Liga for the 2012-13 season. In his first season in la Liga Aspas scored 12 goals in 36 matches in all competitions. Aspas then signed for English club Liverpool for the 2013-14 season and it was completed on the 23rd of June.
Aspas was a vital player at Celta Vigo for several years and he received several prestigious awards including the 2011-12 Segunda Division Zarra Trophy and Best Forward awards as well as gaining promotion with the team in the same season.
Aspas is yet to make an appearance for his national side Spain.
