Brazilian football club Esporte Clube Bahia are based in Salvador and they play their home matches at the Arena Fonte Nova which holds 56,000 people. The club have won the Campeonato Brasileiro on two occasions n 1959 and 1988. At state level the club have won over 40 titles making the club one of the most dominant in the regions.
