Bayern Munich who´s nickname is the Bavarians play their home games wearing a strip of red shirts with white sleeves. Bayern have had some household names pull on the shirt in the past, such as; Franz Beckenbauer, Jurgen Klinsmann, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Gerd Muller and Allan McInally.

Bayern Munich who in Germany are called FC Bayern Munchen were founded in 1900, they are based in Munich. Bayern Munich used to play in the Olympic Stadium, but moved to a new ground in summer 2005, the Allianz Arena in Munich, which was built for the 2006 World Cup which Germany host.

Current European Cup champions at the time, Bayern Munich were pooled with Manchester City, Viktoria Plzen and CSKA Moscow in Group D. Bayern Munich topped their group before losing to Real Madrid in the semi-finals. The club beat Arsenal and Manchester United to reach the semi-finals.

Pooled in Group F of the 2012-13 Champions League group stage, Bayern Munich topped their group and went on to beat German rivals Borussia Dortmund in the final. Bayern Munich finished ahead of Valencia, BATE Borisov and Lille in the group stage and they beat Arsenal, Juventus and Barcelona on the road to the final. The club featured several stars in the 2013 Champions League Final including Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, Manuel Neuer, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Muller, Javi Martinez and Philipp Lahm.

Topping Group A in the 2011-12 Champions League ahead of Napoli, Manchester City and Villarreal. Bayern Munich then beat Basel, Marseille and Real Madrid to reach the final against Chelsea. Bayern Munich ended up losing to Chelsea on penalties.
