Beijing Guoan are a Chinese club that plays in the Chinese Super League. The club play their home games in the Workers Stadium which holds 66,161 people. The club were first called Beijing Football Club and they played in the top tier where they won several domestic titles. The club were founded in 1951 as a semi professional side and were made professional in 1992.
The clubs official home colours are green and white. The club crest features yellow, green and white with a black border. The club are one of the stronger teams in the Chinese Super League as well as Shanghai Shenhua.

Beijing have won the Chinese Super League once in 2009, the FA Cup three times and the FA Super Cup twice. The club have had former Malian great Frederic Kanoute play for the club.
In total, Beijing would have won the league title six times during the old Chinese National Football League era before the club was given full professionalism in 1992.
