Besiktas play their home games in shirts which are mainly white and black, with the club's fans calling themselves the black eagles. They play in the 32,086 capacity Inonu Stadium in the Bosphorus area of Istanbul.
Besiktas was founded on the 19th of March 1903. In 1918 they won their first piece of silverware, the Turkish 1st Sports League. In 1924 they became the Istanbul Football Leagues first champions and went on to win three consecutive championships in the early 90s.
