Fabio Borini is a striker and occasional winger for English Premier League side Sunderland on loan from Liverpool. He joined Bologna in 2001 as a youth player. In the summer of 2007 he joined Chelsea from Bologna. In the 2008-09 season he played for Chelsea reserves. On the 1st of September 2009 he made the bench under Carlo Ancelotti in a UEFA Champions league match against FC Porto.
He made his debut for the club against Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League match. He struggled for a starting place at Chelsea. He played just four league matches for the club. In 2011 he was loaned to Swansea City under former youth manager Brendan Rodgers. He played nine matches scoring six goals for the club. On the 31st of August 2011 he signed a loan deal for Roma. He played 24 matches for the club scoring nine goals.
On the 13th of July 2012 he signed a £10.5 million deal with Liverpool. On the 9th of August he scored his first goal for the club against FC Gomel. He made his Premier League debut on the 18th of August.
Borini played for Italy U-17, U-19 and U-21 and he made his senior debut on the 29th of February 2012 in a friendly against U.S.A. He played in the 2012 UEFA EURO Championship with Italy.
