Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas better known as Botafogo is a Brazilian football club from Rio de Janeiro. The club was formed in 1904 and has its origins on Botafogo Beach. They play their home games in the 70,000 capacity Maracan in Rio de Janeiro, a stadium they share with Flamengo, Vasco da Gama and Fluminense.
Botafogo won the 1993 Copa CONMEBOL tournament and they have won the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A on two occasions in 1968 and 1995.
