Brazil played their first international away to Argentina in Buenos Aires, Argentina on the 20th August, 1914, losing 3-0. Brazil play their home international games at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil are arguably the most iconic international teams to grace the game as they have had several legendary and well known players play for them including Pele, Romario, Zico, Ronaldo, Rivelino, Cafu and Roberto Carlos.
Brazil have hosted the FIFA World Cup on one occasion with the 2014 FIFA World Cup held in Brazil. Brazil have won the World Cup on five occasions more than any other team in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002. The 'Golden Era' from the late 1950s to the early 1970s resulted in three World Cups for Brazil much thanks to FIFA Player of the Century, Pele.
Nicknamed 'Canarinha' meaning 'Little Canary', Brazil play in yellow home shirts with blue shorts and white socks which are manufactured by the American brand, Nike whilst the away shirt is blue with white trim. The yellow, blue and green colours were first implemented into the Brazil kit in the 1950s after the original white and blue colours were criticised for lacking patriotism. The new wave of Brazil talent will most likely be shown in the 2014 FIFA World Cup which features players such as Neymar, Lucas Moura, Ganso, Alexandre Pato, Oscar, Bernard and Leandro Damiao.
