Etienne Capoue is a French footballer who plays for English club Tottenham Hotspur and the France national team. Capoue was a French youth international having caps earned at under-18, under-19 and under-21 level. He began his club career at French club Toulouse making his professional debit in December 2007 against Lille in a 1-0 win. Capoue scored his first goal against Bordeaux in a 2-1 loss.
During the 2009-10 season Capoue drew attention form the likes of Lazio, Liverpool and Arsenal where he extended his contract at Toulouse for another season. In July 2013 Capoue accepted a reported £9.5 million from newly promoted Premier League club Cardiff City but the deal was not finalised.
On the 15th of August 2013 Capoue signed for Tottenham Hotspur and he made his debut for the club on the 18th of August in a 1-0 away against Crystal Palace. On the 15th of August 2012 Capoue made his debut for the France senior team in a friendly match against Uruguay and he netted his first goal for his nation in a 3-1 win over Belarus in a 2014 World Cup qualifier.
