Premier League champions Chelsea were pooled in Group G of the 2015/16 Champions League group stage along with FC Dynamo Kyiv, FC Porto, Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC. Chelsea will take to the pitch for their Champions League evenings in adidas' revolutionary graphic design in black, whilst a trademark blue has been used for their home kit.
Most recently winning the 2011-12 Champions League and 2012-13 Europa League titles, English side Chelsea have been one of the most dominant sides on the European stage in recent times. Chelsea have won one Champions League, one Europa League, two Cup Winners' Cup and one Super Cup titles. Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties in the 2011-12 Champions League Final with Chelsea legend Didier Drogba netting the winning penalty. Several big names played for Chelsea in that final including Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Juan Mata, David Luiz and Petr Cech.
Chelsea were issued a Champions League specific third jersey by adidas which featured a navy and sky blue third shirt for away matches in Europe, whilst their standard royal blue home shirt was used for home ties at Stamford Bridge. The English club played in Group G of the 2014-15 Champions League group stage along with Schalke 04, Sporting CP and Maribor. Showing dominance through an unbeaten run of six group stage games saw Chelsea finish in 1st and progress to the round of 16 being drawn against PSG. Chelsea and the French champions would have a tight contest through both legs which would see PSG come out on top narrowly defeating the London based club 3-3 on aggregate.
Current Europa League champions at the time, Chelsea finished top of Group E in the 2013-14 Champions League ahead of Schalke 04, Basel and Steaua Bucuresti. Chelsea overcame Galatasaray and Paris Saint-Germain before losing to Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals.
Finishing third in Group E of the 2012-13 Champions League, current Champions League champions at the time Chelsea went on to win the Europa League beating Benfica in the final. Chelsea were victorious in the previous season winning the Champions League for the first time.
Topping Group E containing Bayer Leverkusen, Valencia and Genk in the 2011-12 Champions League Chelsea went on to win their first ever European Cup beating Bayern Munich in the final. To get to the final Chelsea overcame Napoli, Benfica and Barcelona.
