The club's home shirt had barely changed throughout the years but differences began to occur in the early 1980s as white and red details started to appear on various designs. Gulf Air were the first company to have their logo placed on the Chelsea home shirt in 1983. However, it was only there a season before the team reverted back to a logo free design. Nevertheless, Commodore were present on the clubs 1987 shirt and have since been followed by numerous sponsors such as Coors, Autoglass and Samsung.

Famous home kits include the 1905 blue kit which was their first in their history and the 1955 home shirt which marked their first league triumph. Other notable shirts include the 2012 blue home kit which marked their first European title. Didier Drogba scored the equalising goal and the winning penalty in the final against Bayern Munich.

2015

With Chelsea's 2014/15 home shirt using a subtle hooped weave design, the modified 2015/16 home shirt for the Blues used an all new pinstriped weave design on the front panel. The trademark royal blue was stroked upon the entire shirt while white trim again coloured the adidas three-stripes on the shoulders for a clean look. Signing a long term sponsorship deal with Yokohama Rubber, the new Yokohama Tyres sponsor is seen in white on the front of the shirt.


2014

The 2014-15 home kit for Chelsea features a new hooped two-tone blue gradient design while white colours the adidas three stripes. A simple royal blue rounded crew-neck collar is added while the sleeve cuffs are also royal blue. The adidas and Samsung logos are coloured white while a Brazil inspired horizontal line is featured on the upper back of the shirt. The home kit is completed with blue shorts and socks with white trim.


2013

The Chelsea 2013-14 home shirt is royal blue and features white trim on the adidas three stripes on the shoulders, sleeve cuffs and v-neck collar. Additional details include a subtle blue stripe design on the front and back of the shirt. The adidas and Samsung logos are also coloured white. The home kit is completed with blue shorts and socks with white trim.
