Moussa Sidi Yaya Dembele was born on the 16th of July 1987. He began his career at Germinal Beerschot where he played 20 matches scoring one goal. He moved to Willem II in 2005 where he played 33 matches scoring nine goals. Dembele signed for Fulham in 2010 before signing for London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 where he formed a unique partnership with Christian Eriksen and Paulinho in the centre of midfield.
He moved to AZ Alkmaar in 2006 where he made he helped the club win the 2008-09 Dutch Eredivisie and the Johan Cruijff Shield titles. He played 118 matches for AZ scoring 24 goals. was linked with Birmingham City but opted to sign for Fulham in August 2010. He made his debut for the club in August 2010 against Manchester United. He scored his first goal for the club against Port Vale in the League Cup in August. He has played under many different roles at Fulham such as striker and centre midfield. He played 62 league matches scoring five goals for the club.
Dembele signed for Spurs in August 2012 for £15 million. He scored on his debut in a 1-1 draw against Norwich City. Dembele faces competition with Scott Parker, Tom Huddlestone, Sandro, Jake Livermore and Gylfi Sigurdsson in the central midfield role.
Dembele has played for Belgium U-16, U-17, U-18 and U-19 youth levels. He made his Belgium debut in 2006 against Slovakia. He netted his first international goal in October 2006 against Azerbaijan. Dembele is one of many Belgian Premier League players such as Vincent Kompany and Eden Hazard.
