Diego Costa is a Brazilian born Spanish forward who plays for Chelsea and the Spain national football team. Most notably known for his world class finishing and aerial abilities Diego Costa is considered to be one of the best strikers in world football.
Born on the 7th of October 1988 Diego Costa began his career in Portugal with SC Braga in 2006 where he went to Penafiel on loan then signed for Atletico Madrid in 2007. He went through a series of loan moves from 2007 to 2009 playing for Braga, Celta Vigo, Albacete. This lead to his transfer to Real Valladolid in 2009.
In June 2010 Diego Costa returned to Atletico Madrid initially as back-up for Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan and in the 2012-13 season he began to make a name for himself where he scored 20 goals in 44 matches followed by prolific form the following season. Diego Costa remains a prominent threat on attack as he uses he clinical finishing and aerial abilities to score goals much like Radamel Falcao. Diego Costa signed for English club Chelsea in the summer of 2014 for 32 million pounds.
Having played for Brazil in two friendlies Diego Costa opted to play for Spain internationally where he would compete with Alvaro Negredo, Roberto Soldado, Fernando Llorente and Fernando Torres for a starting role in the Spanish team. Costa played for Spain at the 2014 World Cup.
