Dumbarton is a professional Scottish football club. It was founded in 1872 and currently plays in the Scottish 3rd Division. Dumbarton were a strong club that played and won the first 2 Scottish Football League titles 1890 and 1891 and the Scottish cup in 1882. Dumbarton have also won division 2 titles in 1910 and 1971 and 1991.
Dumbarton play at Strathclyde Homes Stadium with a capacity of 2000. Their colours are white, gold and black.

The club were one of the greatest clubs of the nineteenth century, winning the Scottish Football League in the first two seasons of the competition.
For the 2013/14 season the team will continue to wear strips under their own '1872' brand. The home strip is based on the popular strips from the 70s & early 80s.
