Christian Eriksen is a Danish footballer who plays for English club Tottenham Hotspur and the Denmark national football team. Born on the 14th of February 1992 Eriksen began his club career at Dutch club Ajax where he made his professional debut on the 17th of January 2010 against NAC Breda. Ajax manager Martin Jol compared the player to the likes of Rafael van der Vaart and Wesley Sneijder and he scored his first goal for the club in a 6-0 drubbing against Go Ahead Eagles.
Eriksen made his breakthrough season in the 2010-11 campaign helping his side to the Eredivisie title where he was named the Ajax Talent of the Year. Eriksen went to help the Dutch giants win two more Eredivisie titles and one Johan Cruijff Shield. This prolific form linked the Danish starlet to several big European clubs including Tottenham Hotspur.
On the 30th of August 2013 Eriksen signed a £11 million deal at English club Tottenham Hotspur where he also joined the club along with Erik Lamela and Vlad Chiriches. The Danish playmaker was one of several players to join the London club in that summer where they were seen as replacements for Gareth Bale who departed for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
