Philippine Azkals Turn Concept Kit Into Reality, Confirm Jerseybird Shirt as Official 2023 Kit
Even among big football clubs and national teams, kits produced by major brands are sometimes criticised as generic, boring and uninspired. So it’s not such a bad idea to turn things around and build things from the ground up. That’s exactly what the Philippine national football team did (and did so successfully if we might add), partnering with kit maker JerseyBird to turn its Philippine concept kit into an official 2023 outfit for the Azkals of Asian football.
2023 AZKALS KIT REVEAL.
We partnered with the Philippines Men’s National Football Team (@TheAzkalsPH) to create kits for the 2023 season.
This distinctive design features feathers in Filipino national colors that also refer to their national bird, the Philippine Eagle.

Regarding the jersey itself, it starts with a white base which is then filled with feather graphics, inspired by the Philippine national eagle and the mythical birds Sarimanok and Ibong Adarna. The said visuals are grey along the middle and blue and red along the sides and sleeves. A repeating pattern of the sun from the national flag flows through the sleeve cuffs and collar.
The same design applies to the blackout goalkeeper kit, just with a multicolour finish and white suns instead of the traditional yellow. While the outfield kit is more representative of the Philippine flag colours, the vibrancy of the goalkeeper uniform reflects more of the fun atmosphere of the Sinulog festival, one of the biggest festivals in the country. Overall, the JerseyBird Philippine kits project looks that are truly distinct and memorable for the team’s fans and players.
