Barclays Premier League 2013/14 Nike Incyte Ball

The new Barclays Premier League 2013/14 season kicks off on Saturday the 17th August 2013 and runs until the 11th May 2014. Several changes will be noticeable from the previous season, most notably the absence of Sir Alex Ferguson on the Manchester United touchline to be replaced by David Moyes, the return of Jose Mourinho for Chelsea, the new manager of Manchester City Manuel Pellegrini, and a host of multi-million transfers.

It will also be the first season when Hawk-Eye goal-line technology will be used in all stadiums hosting Premier League matches. This technology will decide in no uncertain terms whether the new ball shown above has crossed the line or not. The new Premier League ball is supplied by Nike and is named Nike Incyte. The ball features an orange Nike Swoosh and details in black and purple, with the base colour being white. Above, you can also see the Nike Incyte variations to be used in the Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A.

@4 Look at a close up picture of it; you’ll see that it does.

Typical Nike, using templates yet again.

Why has it got Umbro logos all over it?

  7. Scott Griffin see pics of Puncheon with ball and weights here (number 41 I think). They don't use £12 footballs when preparing for the new Prem season.

That's a low-cost replica (no pattern on the white bits and the wrong colour), last year's cheapo ball was called the Catalyst too, the actual Premier League ball is called the Incyte and is purple/black in the same pattern with orange triangles and Nike logo.

I would rather see us using the ball that will be used in the World Cup finals
