Mexico: CF Monterrey Kits 2009/10

Mexican club CF Monterrey has unveiled the new kits in which it will play the 2009/10 campaign. The oldest club in Northern Mexico plays in the Premier Division in the country’s league system. In the 2008/09 season they ranked 4th in the table and made it to the quarter-finals. The club won the Premier Division twice, in 1986 and the Clausura of 2003. Other honours include the 1991/92 Mexican Cup, the 1992/93 CONCACAF Cup Winners’ Cup, and the 1992 Mexican Super Cup.

Nike are the shirt manufacturers while Bimbo and Casas Javer (front) and The Home Depot and Coca Cola (sleeves) sponsor the kits. The new home sirt of the club will have vertical white and navy blue stripes, divided by thin red stripes. It has a red V-neck collar and a red trim to the sleeves. Navy blue shorts and red socks complete the 2009/10 home kit. The away kit consists of a white shirt, with 8 vertical thin blue lines. The V-neck collar and sleeve trims are also dark blue. The complementary shorts and socks are white. A third kit for the Clausura 2010 is expected to be unveiled in the future, and it is rumoured that it will be red.

  1. Actually, the sponsor is one of the best known companies in Mexico, so it’s actually a fair amount of cachet. Having said that , this kit unlike other big clubs does not really accommodate the sponsor. It looks like an afterthough. Cheapens the sponsor, cheapens the kit. Ugh.
