Nike Unveil 2024 Federation Kits

Multiple national teams join together in the unveiling of the Nike 2024 Federation Kits. And while the spotlight is on those Federations participating in the upcoming Euro and Copa America, part of this collection are those that are starting to make noise in the international football scene. The Swoosh brand approaches their design of the 2024 strips with the concept of ‘metaprism.’ They refresh the traditional colours of each nation through the lens of light and movement. In addition, a bespoke signoff courtesy of the unique in-collar logos completes the design of each kit. Nike 2024 Federation Kit collection is comprised of kits for Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, England, France, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Turkey and the USA.

Brazil, England, France, Netherlands, Portugal

The Canaries has their yellow home with a secondary pale yellow accent to express the all-over graphic inspired by the natural heritage of Brazil. The wave motif of the sleeve cuffs adds another design element and represents the country’s coastline and textiles. The same motif informs the overall look of Brazil’s secondary strip. Moving on to the Three Lions, we see them wear their white home with the familiar accent of navy. But the story is the sleeve cuff striping, seemingly red and blue at first but also include shades of light blue and purple, inspired by the training gear worn by the World Cup-winning 1966 squad. An interpretation of the St. George’s Cross using the said gradient colours appear at the back of the collar. England’s away kit is a predominantly deep purple shirt with a multicoloured side panel that represents youth and forward-thinking. As for the Les Bleus, their blue home is all about the oversized crest and tricoloured collar, both a tribute to the diverse 1980 French teams. The French players would also be carried by a white away shirt with a pinstripe pattern, which expresses a blue-to-red gradient effect that still harmonises with the national tones.

The Netherlands refreshes their Oranje identity by giving their home a new, vibrant ‘Safety Orange’ shade. On the other hand, their away is a dark blue shirt designed randomly with geometric shapes and striping patterns that seemed like lion claw marks. Portugal is also keeping it minimalistic by having a red home designed on with black with green tipping collar and sleeve cuffs. The alternate has a blue mosaic tile design to embody the natural architecture and to somehow deviate a bit to the usual white of the team’s secondary kit.

Croatia, Norway, Poland

Croatia head to the Euro 2024 with their famous red-and-white checkered home look applied in a zoomed in fashion. Partnering the said kit is a blue alternate that also have the checkered pattern applied tonally and in a relatively less zoomed in application. Haaland and company play out their international commitments with a vertically striped home shirt, which has a noticeable gradient effect starting at blue at the centre stripe and ending up with red on the sides. The white Norway away has touches of blue and clearly represents the cold snow and ice of the Arctic Circle. Poland stick with colour blocking and has white for home and red for the away. The former has the classic red accent from the collar, while the latter has tonal applications separating the body from the sleeves.

Nigeria, South Korea, USA

For the first time in a few years, Nigeria goes back to a white base for their primary kit. This is to give clear background for which to apply on the greyish outline of the Super Eagle and the Naija spirit combined. The alternate kit gives off a more busy graphical activity, combining green tones to display dots and curved lines and visualise the Nigerian communities connecting together for their national team. Korea don a pink main and a black secondary strips, both displaying a free flowing design inspired by the country’s architecture (home) and the famous pearl lacquerware (away). Copa America 2024 host team USMNT play with a white home shirt that has a red-and-white pinstriped cuffs. The said pattern forms half of the collar, whose other half is formed by a solid blue fill. The away shirt is mostly blue and has a gradient of white and red towards the bottom left corner. Its diagonal orientation  is inspired by the sash design of the kits worn in the ’50s.

Canada, China, Turkey

Canada, China and Turkey all have red home kits and white alternate kits. For Canada, their home has a two-tone red to distinguish the body from the sleeves, while their white away has red pinstripes running down the body. The central design element linking the China kits is the dual-colour striping on the sleeve cuffs. Lastly, Turkey’s red home shows a clean, straightforward look, while the white away has a red chest band that houses the crescent and the star (with a further light toned circle acting as the background within the band).
