Official: Ghana 2014 World Cup Puma Home & Away Kits

Prior to their friendly against Montenegro this week Ghana launched their new home and away kits for 2014 and the World Cup.

Confirming our previous leak, Ghana have revealed new home and away shirts. The new Ghana home shirt reveals their trademark white appearance while a subtle feature includes a tribal pattern on the collar and shoulders symbolising Ghana culture. The same tribal pattern is also featured on the sleeve hems while black trim is included on the numbers and branding.

The tribal pattern featured on the collar is inspired by Kente cloth design which is a traditional form of art in Ghana. The Kente pattern features multi-colour designs consisting of different shapes forming an eye catching display. The new home shirt will be complemented with white shorts and socks.

The new Ghana away shirt is mostly red featuring an enlarged watermark of a tribal pattern on the front of the shirt. The shorts also feature the same pattern while the shirts, shorts and socks have yellow trim added.

Unveiled by Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan they debuted their new kit against Montenegro in an international friendly this week. Ghana have been pooled with the Germany, Portugal and the United States at the 2014 tournament. Ghana will be looking to repeat the success of the 2010 tournament where they reached the quarter-finals making them the first African side to do so.
