PSG Launches 2022/23 Home Shirt!
While keeping the traditional components in place, PSG’s 2022/23 home shirt introduces just enough changes to keep things fresh and make it stand out among the club’s history of home kits. Its deep blue base breathes in the sense of familiarity, and the small strip patterned after the French flag on the sides of the sleeve cuffs makes no mistake to whom this jersey belongs. So wherever Mbappe and company play this season, they are doing so with a jersey synonymous with domestic league success. After opting for a predominantly plain shirt this past year, however, PSG is bringing back the bespoke Hechter stripe. Classic as it may seem, the feature design is where the Parisians and Nike mix things up for modernity.
Arguably appearing for the first time, PSG is showing off a fresh reversed interpretation of the Hechter, meaning that the main band comes in white while borders go red. While not the first to display an interrupted look to give room for the principal sponsor livery, the reversed Hechter offers another first in that the crest and the Swoosh sit centrally within the upper part of the iconic stripe, the former on top of the latter. Nike, for its part, gives its PSG home jersey a new Vaporknit pattern. The said technical partner also adds an arching seam over the chest, typical for the jerseys of the Nike Elite teams for the season. A simple round collar and sleeve cuffs of the same base shade complete the overall look.
