Puma End Egyptian Shirt Deal, Egypt on Hunt for New Kit Manufacturer
It feels like they’ve hardly had a chance to wear them, but you won’t be seeing Egypt in the Puma shirt below again. The German sportswear brand has decided to rescind its contract with Egypt, the deal was supposed to run through to 2014.
Our initial reaction is Puma do not want their brand associated with the political unheveal and subsequent football violence that left seventy-four people dead after an Egyptian league game between al-Masry and al-Ahly.
We hear that the Egyptian Football Association are currently in talks with adidas to try and arrange something to wear for their friendlies against Uganda, Kenya and Botswana this month. Even if they do reach an agreement, expect to see the Egyptians lining up wearing teamwear as there isn’t time for a bespoke design.
No!!! Puma has produced wonderful kits for Egypt. It really disappointed me if you left.
Thanks for sharing. I read many of your blog posts, cool, your blog is very good.
