Russia sign deal with Adidas

The Russian Football Union have signed a deal with Adidas to produce the kits for the Russian national team.

The deal sees Adidas replace the equally large Nike as the kit manufacturers, and will see the 3-stripes adorn the kits of evry RFU team, including the Olympic side.

The deal will last an astounding 18 years.

The deal came into effect as of the 1st of September, and the new shirts were worn for the first time in Russia’s 2-1 win over Wales in today’s World Cup Qualifying match.

Now Adidas is back – I’m waiting for the CCCP logo to apear, along with the cold war.
The shirts are ok – another basic template that lacks creativity. I wonder if Roman Abramovich gets a cut?

  2. One can only hope that these are preliminary kits that Russia wore in the match so closely held after the deal had been reached.

Let’s hope adidas uses the next month to customize at least a bit.
