Roberto Firmino is a Brazilian footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Premier League Liverpool FC and possess as an integral member of the team due to his versatility in attacking positions, gifted dribbling and technical ability. Following back-to-back seasons of world class performances with German club 1899 Hoffenheim, Fermino attracted various European giants including Liverpool FC who managed to prise Hoffenheim's gem away for a deal worth £29 million.
Born in Macelo, Brazil, Firmino began playing football for the youth ranks of CRB before attracting attention from Figueirense of whom signed the player aged 17 as a defensive midfielder. After just a single match Fermino was promoted to the first team where he was a key figure making 51 appearances and returning with 12 goals. In December 2010 Bundesliga club Hoffenheim managed to lure the player away from his home country to Germany and star as an important player for the team. Making steady progress and development with the club, Fermino experienced his breakthrough season with Hoffenheim in the 2013/14 season by scoring 22 goals in just 37 matches which placed him in fourth position in the Bundesliga top scorers chart and named breakthrough player of the year. Firmino's undoubted talent would spark further interest across Europe and Premier League club Liverpool would express their desire to sign the player through a £29 million offer which Hoffenheim subsequently accepted.
Now a Liverpool player, Fermino is expected to live up to the hype and price tag which is reflected by Liverpool's decision to issue the player with the number 11 shirt as previously worn by the likes of Jamie Redknapp and Vladimir Smicer.
Firmino has made over 10 appearances for the Brazlian national team and expresses his desire to feature in future matches by saying it is a dream to represent his country.
