2021/22 Gabon Home Shirt

Gabon wears its traditional yellow colour on its 2022 home shirt. The Kappa-produced jersey features a tonal graphic on the front resembling the silhouette of a panther, the national symbol of Gabon. The wavy and dark application of the said graphic manifests prominently on the sleeves. The round collar and the sleeve cuffs are dark green with a layered construction. Only the outer side contains the mentioned sleeve cuff build.

2021/22 Gabon Away Shirt

The Panthers of AFCON wear a white away shirt for 2022. The all-over light grey graphic is the same wavy pattern that constitutes the panther silhouette on the home shirt. The round collar has a multi-layered look, green on the forefront and yellow on the underlay. The cuffs are primarily yellow and blend seamlessly to the inner arm panel, also in yellow. Completing the colour accent is the green lining on the outer side that borders in-between the sleeve and the cuff.

The side have never managed to qualify for a World Cup. Their latest attempt in 2010 saw them finish 2nd in the final group stage behind Cameroon by four points to miss out. However, this ensured that they would participate in the African Nations of the same year.

An impressive African Nations group stage saw them finish level on points with Zambia and Cameroon, once again. As all three teams were tied and level on goal difference, the positions were decided on goals scored. Unfortunately, Gabon missed out on the top two by courtesy of scoring one goal less than Cameroon.

They are certain to participate in the 2012 African Nations tournament due to co-hosting the event with Guinea. The team will hope to emulate their best performance in the competition which arrived in 1996 when they reached the quarter finals.
