Eidur Gudjohnsen is an Icelandic footballer who plays for Belgian club FC Brugges. He generally plays as a striker but is also competent as an attacking midfielder. He started his career off with Valur Reykjvaik in 1994. He then went for a 2 year spell at PSV Eindhoven and in 1998 signed for Bolton Wanderers.
His return of 26 goals in 55 matches led to interest from Chelsea and he ultimately signed for the club in 2000 and he spent six years playing in England's highest division, gaining 182 appearances for Chelsea. Chelsea's big name signings led to speculation about Gudjohnsen's space in Chelsea's line-up and he signed for Barcelona in 2006.
Gudjohnsen also has 49 caps with his national team, Iceland, where he scored 20 goals. Among Gudjohnsen's most notable honours are Dutch League & Cup titles, the English Premier League and the Spanish Super Cup.
