Hartlepool were founded in 1908 but has its roots in the amateur side West Hartlepool that was founded in 1905. The Pools as the side is known play their home games at Victoria Park, Clarence Road, Hartlepool. The ground was originally owned by the local rugby club which went bust in 1908, Victoria Par has a capacity of 7,700.
