An attacking midfielder and a winger, Eden Hazard signed for Chelsea in 2012, having started his professional career at Lille's football academy. He was born in La Louviere, Belgium on January 7th 1991 to a former Belgian international footballer, Eden would emulate his father in November 2008, making his debut for Belgian international side in a friendly against Luxembourg. Hazard signed for English club Chelsea in 2012 where he became an instant hit at the club helpin them to win the 2012-13 Europa League title.
Adept with both feet, Hazard has explosive pace, great technical ability and can change a game with a turn of pace or a dribble. In 2007, his first full season in French football, he won the Young Player of the Year award (National Union of Professional Footballers) becoming the first non-French player to win the award.
In the 2010/11 season, Lille won the French League & Cup double and Hazard was named the Ligue 1 Player of the Year (UNFP), the youngest player ever to win the award. His first goal in a Belgian shirt took nearly three years to arrive, scored in a win over Kazakhstan in October 2011, goals for club sides came more easily to Hazard who scored 36 goals in 147 appearance for Lille.
Hazard made an impressive start to his Premier League career in a Chelsea shirt, turning neatly before setting up the first and being fouled for the penalty that would give Chelsea their second in a 2-0 away win over Wigan on the opening weekend of the 2012/13 season.
