Thierry Henry is a French forward who plays for New York Red Bulls and he is most notably known for being one of the most prolific Premier League players of all time. Beginning his career at AS Monaco, Henry moved to Arsenal in 1999 from Juventus and this is where he made a name for himself as he helped the club to two Premier League titles including the illustrious 2003-04 season where the club finished the season unbeaten. Henry's Arsenal shirt was one of the best selling club shirts of all time.
Thierry Daniel Henry was born in Paris France on the 17th August 1977. He plays for the France National team and for Arsenal FC in the English Premier League. Henry showed early signs of his future potential as a goalscorer playing for a mix of local youth sides. He was subsequently spotted by AS Monaco in 1990 and they signed him up instantly. He made his professional debut in 1994, and stayed at Monaco until 1998. Henry then moved to Italian giants Juventus, but after a disappointing season playing on the wing, he joined Arsenal for a fee of £10.5 million in 1999.
Henry has become Arsenal's top goalscorer in almost every season since he joined the club. Coach Arsene Wenger can take some satisfaction in moving Thierry to a striker and seeing him become Arsenal's all-time leading scorer with over 200 goals. Henry has won two league titles and three FA Cups whilst wearing the Arsenal shirt. In a French shirt he has won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000. In recognition of his abilities, Henry has been twice nominated for the FIFA World Player of the Year and has twice received the Barclays Premiership player of the season award.
He has also won the European Golden Boot twice in succession in 2004 & 2005, the first player to do so. Thierry also has been top goalscorer in the Premiership for four seasons 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006 and his status today is as one of the best footballers in the world.
