Hulk is a Brazilian winger who plays for Russian club Zenit Saint Petersburg and the Brazilian national team. After playing for several different clubs in his career Hulk made a name for himself while at FC Porto and Zenit Saint Petersburg and he is known for his world class strength, dribbling and shooting abilities.
Born on the 25th of July 1986 in Campina Grande, Brazil Hulk began his club career at Vitoria is Salvador, Bahia before moving to Kawasaki Frontale on loan in 2005. Hulk signed a permanent deal at the Japanese club before making two additional loan moves with Consadole Sapporo and Tokyo Verdy. In 2008 he signed a permanent deal with Tokyo Verdy.
Hulk moved to defending Portuguese champions FC Porto in 2008 for Ã¢â€šÂ¬5.5 million and he scored his first goal for the club in a 2-0 win against Belenenses and he formed a unique attacking partnership with Cristian Rodriguez and Lisandro Lopez. He was elected in the Top 10 Rising Stars by UEFA and in August 2009 he signed a contract extension increasing his buy-out clause to Ã¢â€šÂ¬100 million. Hulk went on to help the club win several major titles including the 2010-11 UEFA Europa League, Four Primeira Liga titles, three Taca de Portugals and three Supertaca Candido de Oliveiras. At the individual level Hulk won the 2010-11 Primeira Liga Top Scorer, 2008-09 Primeira Liga Breakthrough Player of the Year and Two Primeira Liga Player of the Year awards.
On the 3rd of September 2012 Hulk signed a big money move to Russian club Zenit Saint Petersburg for Ã¢â€šÂ¬40 million. He scored his first goal for the club in a 2-2 draw against Krylia Sovetov. Hulk made his debut for Brazil on the 14th of November 2009 in a 1-0 win against England. He scored his first two international goals against Denmark in a 3-1 win. He played a major part in Brazil's 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup campaign where they beat Spain 3-0 in the final.
