The Hungarian shirt has reached the World Cup final twice, losing to Italy 4-2 in 1938 and 3-2 to West Germany in 1954. They also have the honour of three Olympic Gold medals in 1952, 1964 and 1968.
Hungary Home Kit
Hungary has always had an affinity with red for their home shirts, persisting with the colour even with their brief partnership with Umbro in the beginning of the 90s. In 1994, they eventually switched back to adidas which continued to be their kit supplier to this date.
The Euro 2020 Hungary home kit differentiates itself from other red kits through its tonal hand-drawn hoop graphic on the front. The design element is said to be a representation of the waves of the Danube river.
Hungary Away Kit
Hungary is one of the nation to have white as its primary colour for away kits. They add accents of red and green to mark itself differently and to add some flag influence to their kits.
The same construction of white with red and green accents apply to the clean-looking Euro 2020 Hungary away strip.
2020/21 Hungary Home Shirt
The Hungary 2021 home kit is red with tonal hand-drawn hoop designs (meant to represent the famous Danube River) on the front side. As adidas is the kit manufacturer, three white stripes run the length of either side of the body panel. The white v-neck has green tipping to complete the colour applications of the national flag. The heightened sleeve cuffs have a darker shade of red. The shirt features three logos on the chest as it has the white team crest, white adidas logo, and multicoloured coat of arms.
2020/21 Hungary Away Shirt
Hungary opted for a cleaner look for their 2021 adidas away jersey, selecting white to form the base colour of the shirt. With that said, the shirt allows for an elegant display of the flag colours, having green side panels and sleeve cuffs plus red v neck, shoulder stripes, and adidas logo. Unlike the home kit, the away shirt has the adidas logo on the right side and the team crest, also in red, on the middle. Against a white background, Hungary's coat of arms on the left chest stands out even more.
Hungary are nicknamed 'The Magical', based on the influential 'the Golden Team' of the 1950s. They play in red home shirts with white shorts and green socks which are supplied by adidas. Hungary have appeared in nine World Cups where their best result was runners-up in the 1938 and 1954 cups. In addition, they also have three Euro appearances, with the Euro 1964 reflecting their best finish at third place. The club have had several famous players to wear their shirt including Ferenc Puskas, Sandor Kocsis, Imre Schlosser, Balasz Dzsudzsak and Gabor Kiraly.
The Hungary national football team played their first international match in Vienna on the 12th October 1902 against Austria, Hungary lost 5-nil. This match was the first international between two non-British European countries.
