New Ivory Coast 2020 Kits

Ivory Coast Shirt on eBay

The Ivory Coast national football team are one of the most dominant in the CAF confederation and they boast several big names in the current roster including Yaya Toure, Didier Drogba, Kolo Toure, Didier Zokora, Salomon Kalou, Gervinho, Wilfried Bony, Lacina Traore and Seydou Doumbia.

Famous players to have pulled on the Ivory Coast's kit are Abdoulaye Traore, Yousouf Falikou Fofana, English Premier League stars Didier Drogba, Kolo Toure & Emmanuel Eboue, along with the African Nations Cup highest goalscorer of all time Laurent Pokou.

An interesting piece of trivia is that the Ivory Coast have been involved in both of the longest penalty shoot outs of all time, beating Ghana 11-10 from 24 kicks and Cameroon 12-11 from 24 kicks. The Ivory Coast wear a home kit of orange shirts & shorts with green socks, they away strip is green shirts & shorts with white socks.

Known as the Elephants by their fans, the Ivory Coast or Cote d'Ivoire won the 1992 African Nations Cup, but it took until 2006 for them to qualify for a World Cup. In the past decade Ivory Coast have established themselves as one of the most dominant nations in the African confederation. The nation have been runners-up in the Africa Cup of Nations on two occasions in 2006 and 2012.

World Cup Kits

Ivory Coast's latest kit features their traditional orange shirt which carries only the sponsor's logo in white and the symbol of the country's football federation. There is a tribal watermarked design typical of the country on the shoulders but it is the only creative aspects of an otherwise simplistic design. The away shirt uses the same template as the 2014 home shirt but in a green colour.

Prior to Brazil Ivory Coast have only previously attended the World Cup on two occasions in 2006 and 2010. The design of the country's kit is yet to vary much with the 2006 shirt featuring more in the way of green detailing on the back of the shirt and the 2010 shirt a tinge of green on the sleeve hems as well as a classic pattern on the right shoulder blade.

The all orange display of 2010 in South Africa was the better of the two World Cup kits thus far with the emphasis on white as the second colour preferable to the green of 2006.

In terms of away designs Ivory Coast have most commonly used green displays with orange trim. Notable away kits was the one used in the 2013 season which saw a green kit with a gradient orange style, a unique design by German brand Puma.

With Puma taking over production of Ivory Coast shirts in the mid 00's, they have previously used Le Coq Sportif and several other shirt suppliers in their history.

For the most part Ivory Coast have stuck to their all orange design throughout. With orange the commonly seen home colour Ivory Coast have tried and tested green and white home shirts.
