Kashima Antlers FC were founded in 1947 as Sumitomo Metal Industries in Osaka city. They moved to Kashima, Ibaraki in 1975 and joined the J League in 1991. Kashima Antlers play their home games in the 42,000 seater Ibaraki Kashima Stadium, Ushiroyama, Jinkoji in Kashima City, Ibaraki, Japan.
In terms of titles won they have won the most of any Japanese team with over 7 league titles.
