Martin Kelly is an English footballer who plays for Crystal Palace and the England national football team. Having been iin and out of the Liverpool squad for several season, Kelly made a move to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2014.
One of the promising young talents on Liverpool's books was Martin Kelly. A back injury sustained whilst training in the Liverpool academy kept Kelly out of action for two years. His subsequent lack of football development during these years. Kelly played in the league winning Liverpool reserve team during the 2007/08 season and impressed enough to debut for the senior team against PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League on December 9, 2008. Loaned out to Huddersfield Town for further development Kelly appeared 7 times for the league one outfit and scored once before Rafael Benitez recalled the youngster to Liverpool.
The 2010/11 season bought regular game time and some impressive performances which resulted in Kelly signing a 4 year contract extension. Unfortunately in March 2011 he once again succumbed to injury. In the summer of 2014 Kelly signed for Premier League side Crystal Palace for 1.5 million pounds.
Martin Kelly's first goal for Liverpool came in a 2-0 win over Chelsea. Kelly's efforts have been recognised at the international level where he has represented England at U-19, U-20 & U-21 level. Scoring on debut for the U-21's is one of Kelly's highlights to date but expect to hear much more about this determined and talented young Liverpudlian.
