Koke is a Spanish footballer who plays for Atletico Madrid and the Spain national football team. Playing as a winger Koke is most notably known for his world class crossing, passing, free kick and stamina abilities.
Born on the 8th of January 1992 Koke began his club career at his current club Atletico Madrid first playing for their B side in 2008. He joined the youth academy aged eight years old and he made his senior debut in September 2009 playing in a 5-2 away loss against Barcelona. He scored his first goal for Atletico against Sevilla in February 2011 in a 2-2 draw. His growing potential was evident and he formed unique partnerships with the likes of Diego Forlan, Radamel Falcao and Diego Costa.
Aged only 20, Koke came of age during 2012Ã¢â‚¬â€œ13, starting in 38 of his 48 official appearances and scoring three goals which included 112 minutes of play in the season's Copa del Rey Final, won against Real Madrid. He also began developing above-average passing skills, either through set pieces or open play. Having played for several Spanish youth sides Koke made his senior debut for Spain in 2013. He won the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship with Spain. Koke looks to be a key player for club and country in future years.
