Arouna Kone is an Ivorian footballer who plays football for English club Everton and the Ivory Coast national team. Born in Anyama, Ivory Coast on the 11th of November 1983 Kone began his career at local club Rio Sport Anyama and he moved to Belgium in 2002 signing for Lierse. The Ivorian then moved to Dutch club Roda JC in 2003 where his career began to take strides as he netted 28 goals in 63 matches for the club which saw him sign for Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven in 2005 and he continued his prolific form scoring 23 goals in 66 matches.
Kone's career his a brick wall when he signed for Spanish club Sevilla where he scored just two goals in 47 matches and this spell saw him play at Hannover 96 and Levante on loan. The Ivorian signed for English club Wigan Athletic in 2012 and his first season in the Premier League he netted 13 goals in 38 matches which resulted in a move to Everton making it Roberto Martinez's first signing of his Everton career.
Kone first goals for his country Ivory Coast came in spectacular fashion where he netted a hat-trick against Gabon in a 5-0 win in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations. In recent seasons along with Didier Drogba he has been one the top choice strikers for the African nation.
