Tradition influenced the mainly white colour of the Leeds United 2023/24 adidas home kit, though it presented some details that allowed it to gain some variety and distinction. First, the outfit displayed some Swedish (and even Boca Junior) vibes because of the blue-yellow-blue template shoulder stripes. The shades used were based on the Leeds crest, dropping the darker blue and pale yellow used in the previous home shirts. A tonal, repeating pattern resembling a peacock’s train, presumably a reference to the ‘The Old Peacock’ pub near Elland Road, adorned the entirety of the shirt. The symbolisation was more likely the case given the clearer presence of a peacock’s outline at the back of the shirt right below the collar.

Leeds United Home 2022/23 KitLeeds United played its 2022/23 season with a predominantly white adidas home shirt. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the club’s 1972 FA title, the jersey displayed a faint all-over pattern featuring the classic LUFC script logo. Most of the navy and pastel yellow accents came from the piped sleeve cuffs and round collar. The template shoulder stripes only came in navy.

Leeds Away Kits

Leeds Away 2022/23 KitPrimarily blue last season, Leeds went for an adidas secondary shirt in pale yellow for the 2022/23 campaign. And from a camo-like all over visual, the design for this season’s away kit featured a psychedelic tie-dye effect in navy, randomly blotching its way across the entirety of the shirt. As customary for an adidas kit, the 2022/23 Leeds away had template shoulder stripes, also in navy.

Leeds Away 2021/22 KitThe Leeds United adidas away shirt for 2021/22 combined a blue base with tonal all-over camo graphic and white shoulder stripes. The jersey also had a standard cut for the sleeves and a simple round collar. To comply with the white accent provided by the template shoulder stripes, all the logos of stakeholders, including the club crest, went with a monochromatic treatment. The abstract, camo-effect was a significant departure from the relatively straightforward, vertical striped design of the previous season’s away shirt.

Leeds Away 2020/21 KitAfter more than a decade and a half, Leeds United were back in English top-flight and played the 2020-21 Premier League season with an adidas away kit. The Leeds away kit used a striped design across the entire shirt similar to the iconic 94-96 away shirt. The new Leeds shirt had blue and green officially dubbed as ‘legend ink’ and ‘mystery green.’ The shirt included narrow cuffs and broad v collar using the official blue colour of the kit. Yellow stripes went across the shoulders. The adidas logo on the right chest was also yellow while full colours shaded the Leeds badge on the left. A small Yorkshire rose appeared below the collar on the rear.

The club first wore yellow and royal blue shirts with their first nickname being the ‘Peacocks’. Now known as the ‘Whites’ or ‘United’ Leeds switched to an all white kit which is inspired by Real Madrid’s home colours and remains to be the case today.

They have had some famous players wear the white shirt in the past such as Gordon Strachan, John Charles, Eric Cantona, Rio Ferdinand, and Jackie Charlton.

Leeds United Football Club were formed in 1904 when they were known as Leeds City, changing their name to Leeds United in 1914. The club turned professional in 1920.

Possibly one of the best deals for the club was in buying Rio Ferdinand from West Ham United for 18 million in November 2000 and selling him for 30 million to Manchester United in July 2002. Unfortunately financial mismanagement lead the club to be forced to sell it’;s most prized assets and cost Leeds it’s Premier League status in 2004. It took 16 years for the club to return to Premier League, becoming a participant in the 2020/21 season.
