Third kits were worn in the late 70s with mainly yellow and white shirts. A series of green and grey shirts came after this in the early 90s. Also white shirts were common with the 2004-05 and 2009-10 shirts featuring similarities to the first away kits in 1892.
In past seasons adidas and Warrior Sports have been producing a new range for every season. Reebok in the late 90s and early 00s had the last seasons away kit as next years third kit. Umbro in the seventies predominantly had the mustard yellow third kits which was reintroduced in the 2006-07 season under new manufacturer adidas.

The 2014-15 third kit for the Reds reveals a dark and light grey hooped design with a red diagonal sash across the front. The shirt features a traditional red collar while the sleeve cuffs are also red. The Standard Chartered and Warrior logos are coloured white while the Liverbird crest is yellow. The sleeves of the shirt are coloured dark grey and light grey. The third kit is completed with black shorts and socks with red trim.
The Liverpool 2013-14 third kit features purple, black and white thirds with purple and white panels on each sleeve. The shirt features the Warrior logo on the top right, the club crest on the opposite side and the Standard Chartered logo (club sponsor) on the front, all in gold. White shorts with purple and black detail complement the shirt. The third kit socks are also unique, with one sock being purple and the other black, both with black hoops.
