Dejan Lovren is a Croatian footballer who plays for Liverpool and the Croatia national football team. Beginning his career at Dinamo Zagreb, Lovren's claim to fame was when he joined the Premier League with Southampton in 2013. He appeared for Croatia at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and he signed a lucrative long term deal with Liverpool in the summer of 2014.
Lovren was born n the 5th of July 1989 in Zenica, Yugoslavia and he began his club career at local club Dinamo Zagreb making his professional debut in 2006. He then joined Inter Zapresic on loan for two seasons. He then moved abroad to France with Lyon in 2010 where he spent three seasons.
In June 2013 Lovren signed for Southampton for £8.5 million and he made his debut for the club against West Brom. His first Premier League goal was against Liverpool in September. He was named on the Bloomberg Sports' Power 50 List at the end of his first season at the club. After the 2014 World Cup Lovren signed for Liverpool for £20 million. His Reds debut was against his former club Southampton on the opening day of the 2014-15 Premier League season.
Having appeared for multiple Croatian youth sides Lovren made his senior debut for Croatia in 2009. His first international was against Malta. Lovren made the Croatia side that played at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
