The team's early away shirts were a series of experimental designs as the green and gold were featured as well as blue and white and a classic red style. Since the late 1930's the club have predominantly had white, blue and black away shirts with the odd splash of yellow and gold shirts.
Notable away shirts include the Red/White 1909 FA Cup Final shirt which made it their first ever FA Cup title. Other kits include the blue away shirt worn in the 1948 FA Cup Final and arguably the most famous away shirt the 1968 blue shirt which was worn in the 1968 European Cup Final victory making it their clubs first ever European title. Another key away shirt was the White/Black 1978 centenary shirt marking the clubs 100th year in existence.

Based on the same Tiro 15 kit template as the home shirt, Man Utd's 2015/16 away shirt offered a clean white visual of which took inspiration by the white adidas away kits worn by the club in the 1980s. A v-neck collar with red and black piping was used which is very similar to the collar seen on the 1984-86 away shirt and the adidas three-stripes stayed patriotic in red.
The Manchester United 2014-15 away kit boasts a slick and simple white and black design. The away shirt is plain white and boasts a traditional styled black collar with a button. The away kit is completed with black shorts and white socks with black trim. The new Chevrolet sponsor is featured while the Nike Swoosh logo is red. The names and numbers on the back of the shirt are likely to be black. A small Black Devil depicted from the club's crest is featured behind the black collar. Behind the neck is a message 'Youth, Courage, Greatness' which represents the clubs values.
The Manchester United 2013-14 away kit features black and midnight navy colours in a gingham checkered design. The logos of Nike and AON, the latter in their last season as kit sponsors before being replaced by Chevrolet, are white. The shirt is complemented by midnight navy shorts and socks. A simple rounded crew-neck collar is added while the sleeves also feature the gingham checkered design.
