Manchester United 23/24 Third Kit
Inspired by the 1909 cup-winning jersey, the 2023/24 Manchester united adidas third was mostly white, with even the template shoulder stripes complementing the kit by going to a tonal application. The design was intended to give visibility to the red logos, especially to the crest that replaced the usual team badge with the iconic and class Red Devil emblem. The standard crest signed off at the panel latched on to the red collar with white pinstripe detailing.
2022/23 Manchester United Third Shirt
Usually assigned as goalkeeper kits, a predominantly hi-vis yellow with navy accent shirt served as Manchester United outfield players’ third outfit, produced by adidas for 2022/23. Similar to other Premier League kits from the stripes brand for that season, the jersey had its collar designed with a pattern inspired by the ’90s. Interconnected angled rectangles comprised the said aesthetics and gave a zigzag appearance. They prominently stood out from the dark-coloured collar by opting for the base shade of the shirt. Like the collar, the template shoulder stripes and monochrome logos provided the secondary colour detail of the shirt.
2021/22 Manchester United Third Shirt
Manchester United receives a blue 2021-22 third kit from kit sponsor adidas. It has an all-over graphic composed of subtle pinstripes and abstract geometrical patterns with light-to-heavy shading. Overall, the visuals form subtle Ms to emphasise the Mancunian way. Light blue pipings fill in the black sleeve cuffs and collar, which applies the construction of the Condivo 21 template. The adidas-signature horizontal shoulder stripes are yellow. The 2021-22 adidas Manchester United third shirt is the first under new sponsor TeamViewer. Historically speaking, the jersey pays homage to the away shirt of the 1993/94 season when United secured its first-ever Double.
2020/21 Manchester United Third Shirt
Building on the patterned home and away shirts, Manchester United’s 2020-2021 third kit boasts a bold new look for the red Mancunians. Unlike the subtlety of the primary kits, the third kit display is flashy because of its ‘dazzle camo’ colours of white and black. This ‘dazzle camo’ colours have seen various applications, from F1’s Red Bull racing car in 2015 to Nike’s Tiempo Legend 8 football boots in 2019. The design itself though has inspiration coming from the striped kits used in 1910, 1936, and 1994, with the 2020-2021 third kit showing uniqueness as it has the thick black stripes in diagonal placements instead of the usual vertical or horizontal, plus some breaks along the left side and the middle.
Adding to the colour variety is the red colour of the three stripes on each shoulder as well as the adidas logo and the monochrome Manchester United crest on the chest area. The Chevrolet logo retains its full silver and gold colours, though the lettering also appears in black consistent with the kit’s ‘dazzle camo’ theme. Inside the shirt just right below the back collar is a Man United logo with special text.
