Claudio Marchisio is an Italian footballer who plays for Juventus and the Italy national football team. Born in Turin Marchisio is most notably known for his creativity and vision at the top of the midfield diamond, a key player for both club and country.
Marchisio was born on the 19th of January 1986 and he began his club career at his current club Juventus where he gained inspiration from his hero Alessandro Del Piero. Making his first team debut in the Coppa Italia he played against Martino in a 3-0 win. He made his league debut in October 2006 against Frosinone as a late substitute for David Trezeguet and made his first start in the following match against Brescia. Marchisio went to Empoli on loan to gain more first team experience in 2007.
His return to Juventus in 2008 was where he began to make a name for himself. He made his UEFA Champions League debut against Artmedia Petrzalka in the third qualifying round second leg. Since then Marchisio has been a regular in the Juventus squad and he has helped the Italian club to win several Serie A and Supercoppa Italiana titles.
For his nation Italy Marchisio made his senior debut in August 2009 in a 0-0 draw against Switzerland. Marchisio scored his first international goals against Serbia in a 1-1 draw in a UEFA Euro 2012 Qualifying match.
