Lazar Markovic is a Serbian footballer who plays for Premier League club Liverpool. Boasting exceptional technical ability and impressive acceleration Markovic begun his club career at Partizan winning three league titles there before moving to Benfica in 2013 where he also won a league title. In the summer of 2014 Markovic moved to Liverpool.
Markovic was born on the 2nd of March 1994 in Cacak, Yugoslavia and he began his club career with Partizan making his professional debut in 2011. In his first season at the club Markovic won the Player of the Year award. He helped the side to win three Serbian SuperLiga titles in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In June 2013 Markovic signed for Portuguese club Benfica where he played just one season helping the side to the 2013-14 Primeira Liga, Taca de Portugal and Taca de Liga titles.
In July 2014 Markovic signed for Premier League outfit Liverpool for 20 million pounds. The young Serbian opted to take the number 50 on arrival.
Having played for several Serbian youth sides, Markovic made his senior debut for Serbia against Armenia in February 2012 and he scored his first international goal against Chile.
