Olympique de Marseille or Marseille are one of the recognised teams in Ligue 1. Their last league title was in the 2009/10 season, with near misses during the 2019/20 and 2021/22 seasons. The Marseille kit is currently manufactured by Puma. They are nicknamed ‘Les Phoceens’ and have a long history of producing world class players including Jean-Pierre Papin, Fabien Barthez, Didier Deschamps, Josip Skoblar, Didier Drogba, Benoit Cheyrou, Eric di Meco and Carlos Mozer.
Marseille 23/24 Kits

Marseille exuded that sense of familiarity with their 2023/24 Puma home. It had the usual white base with the sky blue accents. The said colour details mostly came from the sleeve cuffs and collar, both of which contained a middle white pinstriping. Subtly blending with the base on the front side was the diagonally-oriented greyish gradients inspired by the sandy beaches of Marseille.
Marseille 23/24 Away Shirt
Puma dedicated a predominantly royal blue away shirt for Marseille’s 2023/24 campaign. The richness of the shade contrasted well with the white accents coming from the sleeve cuffs and front end of the round collar, both having a noticeable height. Another white detailing was the abstractly curving white pinstripes, which represented the waves of the Mediterranean Sea.
Marseille Home Kits

Sky Blue had been the secondary colour detail of a typical modern Marseille home kit. That changed in 2022/23 with Puma designing the jersey with dark-shaded accents, bringing back the classic royal blue to the traditional white base. A closer look on the pristine white base revealed the application of subtle debossed stripes. The abovementioned classic accent colour was mainly seen on the logos and the edge outline of the narrow sleeve cuffs and steep v-collar, both in white. The latter previewed a unique construction where a panel overlay covers the collar at the nape area. Below the collar at the back sat the city cross with an oval-shaped border. Keeping up with the overall accent theme, the flag symbol was changed to royal blue. The outfit was the first under new sponsor Cazoo.
2021/22 Marseille Home Shirt
Marseille’s Puma-produced, Uber Eats-sponsored 2020/21 home shirt was essentially a white shirt with sky blue applications. The colour accent got attention primarily from the five stripes on the sleeves, just like how the dual bands on the 1989/90 home shirt’s sleeves did back then. It was a meaningful kit to take inspiration from as Marseille won the league and reached the European Cup semifinals that season. Aside from the sleeve stripes, a sky blue trim punctuated by a navy underline on the undersides completed the look of the 20/21 jersey.
2020/21 Marseille Home Shirt
Olympique Marseille geared up for the 2020/21 season with a Puma home kit that exuded a pristine aura thanks to the white base of the shirt. The shirt had a round neckline and sleeve cuffs that were sky blue. The front side of the shirt, as well as the sleeves, were covered with a subtle graphic representing Le Corbusier’s architectural work Unité d’habitation. Some gold elements were present on the shirt like the lone star above the team crest as well as the DROIT AU BUT lettering below. The Marseille lettering embroidered at the back of the neckline was also gold.
Marseille Away Kits
2022/23 Marseille Away Shirt
Marseille’s 2022/23 Puma Away was a clean navy shirt devoid of graphics or visual designs. The clarity of the backdrop allowed the logos and sleeve cuffs to pop out, bringing a sky blue accent to the otherwise dark-coloured jersey.
2021/22 Marseille Away Shirt
Marseille wore a Puma away shirt for the 2021/22 season. It had an eye-catching zigzag design, in dark navy blue across the front of the shirt, against the backdrop of different shades of blue that produced a holographic effect. The repeating horizontal zigzag lines formed as letter Ms (for Marseille). They also took inspiration from the architecture of the Riviera Coast.
2020/21 Marseille Away Shirt
The Olympians from Marseille played their away matches for the 2020/21 season with a Puma away kit that went the opposite direction of their home strip, going darker by having a navy blue base. The away shirt also had a light blue round neck and narrow sleeve cuffs. The star and the motto of the team crest retained their gold colour. Relative to the subtle print of the home shirt, the ‘Crafted from Culture’ graphic of the away shirt was more pronounced, displaying a stylized illustration of the city presumably at night given the base colour.
Olympique de Marseille were founded in 1892 where the club adopted their current name in 1899. The club’s home colours include a white base with sky blue trim. The club have had variations between which colour shorts and socks have been worn.

Having won the Champions League in 1993, defeating AC Milan in the final, they went on to be relegated and stripped of their domestic title following a match fixing scandal involving the then president Bernard Tapie. By 1996, backed by Adidas boss Robert Louis-Dreyfus, the club had worked their way back to the top flight. Marseille play their home games at The Stade Velodrome, 3, Boulevard Michelet, 13008 Marseille.
