They have won the A-League title twice, once in 2007 and once in 2009 and two Grand Finals titles in the same years. The Victory have the highest attendances at games compared to any other A-League team. The club play their matches in AAMI Park the same as crosstown rivals Melbourne Heart.

The Victory were founded in 2004 and were the major representative for Melbourne in the A-League. Melbourne are considered to appeal to all nations making them a broad-based club. Melbourne Victory and the Heart have a intense rivalry known as the Melbourne Rivalry.
