FC Metz are a French football club who currently play in Ligue 2 and they wear maroon home shirts with white trim. The club have predominantly played in the top division of French football but they have recently had a spell in the second tier.

The teams nickname is Les Grenats which is French for 'maroon' and they have had several big names play for the club including Emmanuel Adebayor, Papiss Cisse, Oguchu Onyewu, Sylvain Wiltord, Rigobert Song, Louis Saha and Miralem Pjanic.
In terms of honours the club have never won the Ligue 1 title but they were runners-up in the 1997-98 season. The club have won the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue on two occasions.
