Inter Miami Home Kits

2022/23 Inter Miami Home Shirt

Inter Miami Home 2022/23 KitInter Miami had a predominantly pink adidas home shirt for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Nicknamed the Heartbeat kit, the kit paid tribute to the fans as the ‘true heartbeat’ of the team. Design-wise, this representation was applied on the sleeve cuffs as a debossed EKG pattern aptly stylised into an M-shape. Other than that, the kit had a clean look, and only had black accents from the logos and template shoulder stripes. The collared strip also had the club motto “Libertad para soñar” (Freedom to dream) written on the upper back.

Inter Miami Away 2023/24 Kitadidas and Inter Miami essentially reversed the colour dynamic of the Heartbeat Kit in the 2023/24 away kit. The resulting light accent contrast against a dark base was meant to capture the spirit and excitement of fans and also to reflect the lights of the skyline during Rosanegra nights. Another interesting feature was the jacquard hoops of wave visuals that symbolised the energy on and off-the-pitch after dusk. Near the nape the kit read ‘Freedom to Dream.’

As the crest bore the great white heron, Inter Miami players are nicknamed the Herons. They share an intrastate rivalry with Orlando City SC. Miami is the only major professional team across all sports in North America to have pink as a team colour.

Inter Miami’s establishment had its roots in David Beckham’s entry to MLS in 2007, having the option to purchase an expansion team part of his LA Galaxy deal. So when he retired in 2013, MLS immediately approached Beckham about the idea. Miami was often brought up as the target market. In coordination with the local government, plans to setup a team and a stadium were put into a motion. This culminated in 2018, when the League awarded Beckham’s group the twenty-fifth MLS franchise, to launch in the 2020 season.

Apart from being owned by an English football superstar, some of the known European names to be associated with the club were Phil Neville (who became Miami’s manager from 2021 to 2023) and Gonzalo Higuain (played from 2020 to 2022). The biggest signing of the club is none other than Lionel Messi. Immediately after the announcement of his intention to join the club, Miami experience the ‘Messi Effect’-increased ticket prices, increased social media following and, to MLS and David Beckham’s benefit, increased exposure of the American soccer to the international audience and sponsors.
